Day 10:
They spent a good part of the day using some laser thing, and laying out string to line of the boards for the footing. They also had to hand dig out the dirt at the foot of the old porch foundation.
Here are the pictures.
The first board has gone down.
Later in the day I came out and this is what they had done. The rebar is in the form and they are tying the boards together with some sort of bracket things.
Day 11:
The following show the footing. You can see that they are putting little cement blocks(the little grey things int he middle of the form) under the rebar so that it is not laying flat on the ground.
The last picture shows the plywood up to make the form for the cement pour:
I should have taken more pictures, but as I said it was cold outside, and I really didn't want to go out in the wind. I think they finished with the forms so then then inspector will come and look at everything before the cement comes in.
